83 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Additionally, Mr. Burdett directly assists in his employees’ professional development, which in turn allows for the greater success of JG Discovery. Earlier in his career, he served as a special education teacher for students with learning and behavioral disabilities in junior high and high school environments. Outside of his endeavors with JG Discovery, Mr. Burdett previously served as the director of Smoke Rise Church Day Camp between 1996 and 2019, having also thrived as the youth coordinator for the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and a member of the teacher advisor committee for the Gwinnett County School Board. Civically involved as well, Mr. Burdett supports such organizations as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Special Olympics, and is a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. To prepare for his career, Mr. Burdett pursued a formal education at Nova Southeastern University, where he attained a degree in instructional leadership. He also holds a Specialist in Education degree. As a testament to its success, JG Discovery was selected as the Best Pre-K Childcare Facility in Gwinnett County, Georgia, by Gwinnett Magazine for eight consecutive years. To this end, Mr. Burdett attributes his immense success to the support and encouragement of his family, which includes his wife and three children. His wife served as an early childhood educator, his two sons served in the military and his daughter excels as a special education teacher. In his leisure time, Mr. Burdett has enjoyed playing darts for 50 fruitful years, for which he has won a myriad of accolades. Looking forward, he would like to return to competitive dart playing in Georgia. Drawing upon more than 25 years of experience in the realm of education, Gregory L. Burdett, EdS, has excelled as the chief executive officer of JG Discovery, Inc., since 2014.
