He began his career with the Ellis Banking Corporation and, later, worked his way up to executive vice president for Suntrust Bank in 1980. He was promoted to president and chief executive officer in 1983. In 2002, Mr. Idelson established and organized Investors Security Trust Company until accepting his present role as the regional Florida president of Busey Bank in 2019. In this capacity, Mr. Idelson manages all the departments of the aforementioned bank, including commercial, commercial real estate, branch networks, private clients and wealth management. Dedicating to building his community as well as his business, Mr. Idelson serves as a board member for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Inc., the Canterbury School, the Children’s Advocacy Center, the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation, the United Way, the Lee Memorial Health System Foundation and the chairman of the board of Hope Hospice. In recognition of his volunteer work, Mr. Idelson was celebrated as Man of the Year by Gulfshore Life Magazine. He also received the Clara Barton Humanity Award from the American Red Cross and was honored by the Boy Scouts of America. Having led a successful career and committing himself to helping his community, Mr. Idelson has left a legacy built with hard work and dedication. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue supporting his community and his bank. An expert in management and business development, Charles K. Idelson has been a leader in the finance industry for more than 50 years.
