66 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT member of the award-winning chamber ensemble The Guilford Trio, with whom she recorded “Forgotten Songs” and “Dream Within a Dream” on Koch International Classics. Other recordings include “Purrrrrfectly Classical” on Centaur Records and “When Love Goes Wrong” with the Moravian Philharmonic. On the horizon is a concert in New York City of operatic duets with Russian bass, Mikhail Krutikov, and a production of her book and video, “The Bear Who Left Wall Street.” The interactive video will take children to the actual streets of New York, where they will hear Ms. Palmour’s own narration with newly composed music of a bassoon playing the Bear. The book is from a series written by Ms. Palmour called “Do You Know About......?” and includes seven books on subjects as far-flung as “The Bear Who Left Wall Street,” “The Cub Who Found the W” (Chicago Cubs), “Mr. Rat Who Visits the Kitchen” and “The Viola Who Waited.” Deidra Palmour is a legendary American opera singer, pedagogue, producer and director. She won the Metropolitan Opera National Competition, Baltimore Opera, Eleanor Steber, Loren L. Zachary Society and NATS National Artists Awards competitions in rapid succession. Eventually singing 45 major roles with 36 American opera companies, her international opera debut came with L’Opéra de Nice in France, and in reviews, the LA Times deemed her a “Dream Goddess...”. As a concert soloist, Ms. Palmour appeared with the National Symphony, the Naval Academy in a nationally televised Christmas special, KRO National Orchestra in Utrecht, Netherlands, with Edo de Waart, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher and Alice Tully Halls, and Academy of Music in Philadelphia with Robert Page. She has given masterclasses and recitals in the U.S., WAAPA in Perth, Australia, Universitas Pelita Harapan in Jakarta, Indonesia, and in Chengdu, China, at Sichuan University. She has taught at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins, Baylor University and the AIMS Vocal Institute. Ms. Palmour served as Music Theater and Opera Director of the Philadelphia International Music Festival in 2018 and 2019 and is Founding CEO and Artistic Director of Three Oaks Opera Inc., an innovative opera company using local musicians to produce opera around the world.
