As the principal of LanMetCon LLC, a consultation company he founded in 2008, he assists professionals and companies in the metal and recycling industries to improve their sales, product portfolio, and organizational and operational effectiveness. In addition to his current role, Dr. Siegmund previously operated as a managing partner at Mettop USA LCC between 2015 and 2016, the senior vice president of process technology at Gas Cleaning Technologies LLC from 2010 to 2014, and the president of Quemetco Metals Ltd from 2003 to 2008. Prior to beginning his professional career in 1989, in which he worked as the head of the non-ferrous process department at Lurgi Metallurgic GmbH until 1998, Dr. Siegmund pursued a formal education. Studying metallurgical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, he earned a master’s degree in 1985 and a PhD in 1989. In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Siegmund has been recognized as a qualified professional in his field by the Mining and Metallurgical Society of America, an organization in which he maintains membership. As part of his dedication to his profession, Dr. Siegmund served as the chairman of the lead and zinc committee and twice as chairman of the quinquennial Pb-Zn conference series of The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society, which presented him with a Distinguished Service Award in 2021 to commemorate his accomplishments in the field. Furthermore, he remains affiliated with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration. Over the course of his career, Dr. Siegmund has largely attributed his success to his knowledge and experience. To this end, he has cultivated a wide network of professional contacts around the world, and he has become well regarded for practiced expertise.
