338 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE With more than four decades of professional experience to his credit, Norm McLean has cultivated a career of excellence in the sports industry. For several years, he has served as the owner of the United Flag Football League, having spent much of his career as a professional football player and athletic manager. Prior to taking ownership of his current organization, he operated as the national director of the United States Flag & Touch Football League. Outside of his primary duties in the field of sports, Mr. McLean has also worked extensively in law enforcement and as a traffic homicide investigator, and he is currently the owner of a security company. During his collegiate career in the early 1980s, Mr. McLean was a top-level football player, traveling across the country while he continued his studies. He subsequently earned an associate degree in 1982. During his time as a football player, he won numerous championships and tournaments, including the Flag Football World Championship in 2001. Mr. McLean subsequently became a referee and coach prior to joining the United Flag Football League and eventually taking on its ownership. Adjacent to his professional endeavors, Mr. McLean also remains active as a civic-minded citizen in his community, regularly organizing sports tournaments and donating all proceeds to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In light of his fulfilling career, he largely attributes his success to his drive and love for sports. In addition, in accounting for his accomplishments, he is especially proud to have been selected by the state of Florida to be inducted into the National Hall of Fame for flag football.
