138 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING With 55 years of professional experience to his credit, Paul Williamson is a proven expert in the design industry. Specializing in marketing, finance and engineering, he founded Art Sign Works, Inc., in 2005, where he continued to serve as the owner, president and chief executive officer. The family-owned and operated company produces a wide variety of wood and metal plaques for customers throughout the United States and abroad in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Operating as the head of the business, Mr. Williamson oversees all daily operations and manages the company’s finances. Currently, three generations of his family work within the business, including himself, his eldest daughter and his granddaughter. Prior to founding his own company, Mr. Williamson served as the vice president of engineering at the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) from 1999 to 2006. He originally began his career in 1967, operating as the director of engineering for Lockheed Martin Corporation from 1967 to 1999. As part of his commitment to his career, he also pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at Cornell University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1966 and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering in 1967. Mr. Williamson subsequently concluded his studies at Stanford University, achieving a Master of Science in engineering and economic management systems in 1970. To remain abreast of developments within his industry, Mr. Williamson maintains alignment with the Tau Beta Pi Association, Inc. He is also a former associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. To commemorate some of his earliest accomplishments in the field, he was previously honored as Contractor of the Year by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in 1987. In light of his fulfilling career, he largely attributes his success to his extensive business expertise, as well as his own perseverance. In accounting for his accomplishments, Mr. Williamson is especially proud to have founded his company after retiring from his previous positions, having always wanted to manage his own business.
