130 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING recognizes that additive manufacturing, while transformative, is not a universal replacement for conventional methods. His objective is, therefore, precise: identify at least one object or process where additive techniques can deliver a measurably faster or better outcome than the traditional approach. When a method falls short, he applies a fail-fast, learn-quickly discipline, rapidly refining processes and iterating toward improved solutions. Looking ahead, Mr. Dissington is committed to building a collaborative learning center that serves both NIWC Atlantic personnel and the broader local community, including schools. His dedication to STEM outreach has earned him recognition as both STEM Person of the Quarter and STEM Person of the Year at NIWC Atlantic. He also leads a Navy-focused internal working group focused on additive electronics for system centers, an initiative that reflects his broader mission to advance manufacturing innovation. Maxwell Dissington is, at his core, a problem solver who finds equal purpose in 3D printing prototypes and in enabling the warfighters who depend on cutting-edge technology to complete their missions. Mr. Dissington serves as an electrical engineer at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, a role he has held since 2019. In this capacity, he delivers internal prototyping services and low-rate initial production, rapidly fielding CASREP systems and emerging technologies directly to warfighters. His work centers on additive and advanced manufacturing, encompassing 3D printing and advanced fabrication techniques, to accelerate delivery and reduce reliance on traditional production timelines. Mr. Dissington’s technical expertise spans vehicle and ship integration, submarine systems, maintenance and defense technology. Among his most notable achievements, he has secured two U.S. patents for technologies designated Spider Sense and Sniper, which are low-cost sensor platforms engineered to collect data and detect patterns of life in operationally relevant environments. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Dissington's professional philosophy is grounded in disciplined experimentation.
