89 Millennium - Twenty-fourth Edition LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT D’Andre McPheeters has spent nearly 20 years applying his skills as a trained mediator, fraud investigator and certified executive e-Discovery specialist as a senior paralegal at Wells Fargo Advisors. Today, Mr. McPheeters is a paralegal for Nemecek & Cole, serving 20 attorneys. He joined the firm in 2025 and quickly integrated as a team player, thanks to his ability to solve problems and conduct legal research. Additionally, he is certified by the American Bar Association in paralegal studies and majored in communications in college. Initially aiming to be an attorney, Mr. McPheeters was hesitant to incur significant student debt. He decided to begin as a paralegal to see if he liked the legal field. Beginning his career at a private law firm, he found a toxic atmosphere marked by racism and sexism. As a result of these negative experiences, he chose to remain a paralegal but sought a different environment, which led him to the financial sector. Mr. McPheeters has a remarkable record of achievement that helped make the legal profession more efficient and effective. As part of the Wells Fargo Advisors Legal Diversity and Inclusion Council, he played a prominent role in promoting diversity in the legal profession. Another accomplishment came when Mr. McPheeters was the only person handling small claims cases on the West Coast and working with other paralegals across the country on projects and team-building exercises. He created a team to develop a paralegal manual covering the entire case process. In addition, he was instrumental in implementing technological changes within the department and creating a database of templates that helped everyone involved. Looking forward, Mr. McPheeters intends to transition into a role as a trainer or paralegal manager. He values people and their contributions highly, particularly those of new hires. His aim is to lead and train others to help them get the best out of what they are doing. This goal aligns with his passion for serving others and will enable him to guide new paralegals as they progress through the field.
