106 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine MEDICINE, HEALTHCARE AND WELLNESS At its core, Project InsulNation is not simply about adventure. It is about identity, freedom and transformation. Mr. Roome believes type 1 diabetes should never diminish a person’s worth, shrink their dreams or force them into a smaller life. He also understands the emotional and physical weight the condition carries, which is why the organization emphasizes preparation, safety, peer support and real-world confidence. Looking ahead, Mr. Roome envisions Project InsulNation becoming a global platform for type 1 diabetes empowerment, offering expeditions across diverse landscapes and difficulty levels. He also aims to establish scholarships for under-resourced participants and build partnerships with leading organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, Beyond Type 1 and Breakthrough T1D. Through Project InsulNation, Mr. Roome is proving that life with type 1 diabetes can be bold, capable, connected and unapologetically limitless. Christopher Roome is distinguished in the fields of wellness, advocacy and adventure-based community building for his work empowering adults living with type 1 diabetes to reclaim confidence, independence and possibility. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child, Mr. Roome has spent more than two decades navigating the daily realities of a condition that demands constant attention, discipline and resilience. Rather than allowing diabetes to define the limits of his life, he has used it as a foundation for purpose. Through endurance sports, backpacking, marathons and extreme outdoor challenges, he discovered a truth that would eventually become the heartbeat of his mission: people with type 1 diabetes are capable of far more than they are often told, taught or allowed to believe. In 2025, Mr. Roome founded Project InsulNation, a growing movement built by type 1 diabetics, for type 1 diabetics. The organization creates immersive outdoor expeditions, endurance-based experiences and community-driven opportunities designed specifically for adults managing the condition. From backpacking trips to high-impact adventure challenges, Project InsulNation gives participants the chance to step beyond fear, build trust in their bodies, learn from others with lived experience and return home with a renewed belief in what is possible.
