Darlene Thorne’s ministry has guided female caregivers in holistic self-care. This work hit close to home in 2019, when her husband survived a stroke and a brain bleed. His perseverance gave her the motivation and strength she needed to continue her work. As the founder and chief executive officer of A Heart After the Father LLC, she spreads her ministry through her prolific writing. Her latest book, “The Lord’s Table: 31 Days of Reflection, Remembrance and Renewal,” was published in 2025. Other works include “Embracing Grace: Lessons Learned in the Caregiving Journey,” “Refresh! Refill! Renew! A 30-Day Devotional,” “The Goliath Within: Winning the Battle of the Heart” and “A Heart After the Father: A Daily Devotional.” These books represent Rev. Thorne’s legacy, and she hopes they will continue to inspire change and motivate others long after she is gone. Rev. Thorne’s meaningful work has earned her numerous accolades. In 2025, she received an honorary doctorate in divinity from Trinity International University of Ambassadors.
