She was hired as a data clerk at Fossil Ridge High School before moving into the Keller Independent School District as a purchasing secretary in 2006. Here, she progressed through numerous roles, including registrar, bookkeeper and financial payment applications coordinator. Ms. Johnson’s entrepreneurial dreams were realized in 2025, when she founded Cowboy This LLC. The print shop and clothing boutique sells apparel for men, women and babies, as well as handbags, wallets, shoes, jewelry and accessories like custom trucker hats. She also sells custom artwork by a local artist. Showing dedication and perseverance, Ms. Johnson attributes her success to her strong work ethic, a trait she inherited from her father. For her, failures are simply opportunities to learn, and she pursues her goals with persistence and determination. She values collaboration with other shop owners and is proud to have opened her store with zero debt. Ms. Johnson has been using her knowledge and experience as a business owner to teach high school business classes at least twice per year, guiding students in running their school stores. She has visited four to five high schools in the district to conduct these sessions. Now retired from the school district, Ms. Johnson is fully focused on her boutique. She has a unique ability to create custom products that cater to customers’ needs. Paired with her natural artistic flair, she has built a distinctive shop with offerings unlike anything else on the local market. Beyond the boutique itself, Ms. Johnson cherishes the connections she has made with her customers. She gives back to causes like the Cowboy Youth Bull Riders Association and is deeply rooted in her community, taking great pride in each new friendship. Amanda Johnson has wanted to open her own business since she was 12, when her passion for fashion revolved around dresses, bows and shoes, mixed with western flair.
