36 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Interested in theater from a young age, Nancy Kassak Diekmann attended Clark University, where she graduated cum laude with a BA in 1974. During this time, she joined the New England Repertory Company in 1973, where she was co-founder and managing director until 1979. Thereafter, she relocated to New York to serve as the administrator and director of the Annual Theater Conference with Theatre Communications Group and managing director of the New York TheatreWorkshop. While serving in these roles, shemet Jonathan Larson, the author and playwright of the groundbreaking musical “RENT,” and excelled as the executive director of the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation from 1997 to 2008. After her departure, she was the director of finance of the Manhattan Country School from 2008 until her retirement in 2020. While working with Jonathan Larson and the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation, Ms. Diekmann helped produce “RENT,” which won Tony and Obie Awards and the Pulitzer Prize. Outside of her primary endeavors, she maintained membership with the National Endowment for the Arts, which she cites among her career highlights. DIRECTOR OF FINANCE (RETIRED) Manhattan Country School Hoboken, NJ Carolyn F. Filipp Beseda has excelled as a musician and as an insurance agent for nearly 60 years and 45 years, respectively. She is a private teacher at St. Mark Lutheran School and her studio; a lead alto saxophonist, clarinetist and vocalist for Jazz Medics; a pianist for CBS Trio; a choral director for Houston Liederkranz Choir; a pianist for Westheimer Community Church (Unity of the Brethren); a musician for SPJST Lodge #88 Band; and a past director and accompanist for the Czech Chorus. Ms. Beseda represents SPJST as an insurance agent, previously serving WFLA and RVOS. Ms. Beseda was a choral and band director for Fort Bend ISD, Houston ISD and Aldine ISD. She held memberships with Pavelka, Space City Dutchmen, Kovanda, Houston Symphony Chorus, University of Houston Wind Ensemble & Cougar Dolls, Houston AllCity Band & Orchestra, and Houston Youth Symphony. Holding a MusB from the University of Houston and MEd from Stephen F. Austin State University, she has earned music educator and director awards for her expertise.
