193 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine P ursuing a career in the medical field came to a quick halt when Dulce M. Suarez-Resnick discovered her fear of needles, and her next fear ensued that she had no longer had a path to follow. After school, Ms. Suarez-Resnick worked at a condominium and got to know a few insurance agents, and before she knew it, she found herself with a deep interest in the insurance business. In 1994, Ms. Suarez-Resnick graduated with an Associate of Science in insurance services from the Insurance Institute of America. Since 2009, she has been the vice president of sales and marketing at NCF Insurance Associates, partnered with Acentria Insurance, and prior to that she was the assistant vice president of personal lines/sales and marketing at HPA Insurance. Notably, Ms. Suarez-Resnick was named Rookie of the Year by the National Association of Insurance Women and was recognized by Elite Women Insurance as a Choice 95 Woman Throughout the United States. Ms. Suarez-Resnick is proud to have been a past president of her local chapter of the National Association of Insurance Women and the Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies. She has chaired the legislative committee of both organizations, and therefore makes annual trips to Tallahassee, Florida, and Washington, D.C. Additionally, Ms. Suarez-Resnick has been the chair and co-chair of legislation of the Latin Agents Association’s political committee. She is a member of the Florida Residential Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association, the Florida Windstorm Underwriting Association and the Florida Association of Insurance Agents. Ms. Suarez-Resnick attributes her success to the people who helped her along the way. She knew the technical aspect to her studies, but she believes the way you become successful in the Floridian insurance market is to have good mentors. She recognizes her mentor Harry Garden for instilling in her these lessons. To the next generation looking to break through into the insurance industry, Ms. Suarez-Resnick advises is it is crucial to be detailed- oriented and customer-centric. Ms. Suarez-Resnick also offers her mother’s motto “Pa’Lante,” which means to look forward and never look back. DULCE M.
