MCCLANE PRESIDENT, OWNER McClane Partners, LLC Alamo Heights, TX his contributions to the survival of Cullen/Frost during the Texas oil and gas and real estate turmoil of the 1980s and early 1990s. Mr. McClane’s academic pursuits began at Trinity University in San Antonio where he earned a BS in business administration in 1961. Following his graduation, he was with Ford Motor Company in Detroit until he entered the U.S. Army where he was a commissioned officer. Upon returning, he found renewed inspiration in his banking professor from Trinity University, who ultimately led Mr. McClane to his career with Frost Bank; he values organizations that hold a reputation of excellence and a quality customer base. Since 1990 Mr. McClane has served on the board of trustees at Trinity University, of which he was chairman from2001 to 2004, and is also an advisory trustee at Southwest Research Institute. Having served on the board of directors for numerous organizations, including CCI Telecom, Prodigy Communications, Princeton eCom Corporation, Tobin International and Benefit Planners, Inc, he was also an advisor of the Ellison Grandchildren Trust. Additionally, he was a trustee at Alamo Public Telecommunications Council and chaired the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, Free Trade Alliance Executive Committee and San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Notably, Mr. McClane led the formation of Leadership San Antonio in 1975, a continuing programof the SanAntonioChamber of Commerce dedicated to bringing together young persons of proven leadership ability from diverse ethnic, cultural and interest backgrounds in support of improving understanding of local government and city infrastructure. For his accomplishments, Mr. McClane was awarded a U.S. Army Commendation Medal in 1962 and the Trinity University Distinguished Alumni Award in 1987. S ince 1997, Robert S. McClane has served as president and owner of McClane Partners, LLC. Beginning in 1962, Mr. McClane worked at Frost Bank, and later its parent, Cullen/ Frost Bankers, Inc.
