He also received a Bachelor of Science in physiological optics from the University of Alabama. Subsequently, he completed his Doctor of Optometry from the prestigious University of Alabama, School of Optometry, The Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1975. Dr. Azman is a Fellow in the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists, and a member of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association. Additionally, he has volunteered as a member of the Maryland State Board of Examiners in Optometry and served as the Board President. In 2019, Dr. Azman was honored by Cooper Vision as one of the top 10 practices in the U.S. to receive ‘Best Practices’ award for excellence in eye care. His mission is to change the lives of patients who are experiencing reduced or significant vision loss and help them regain independence and quality of life. Dr. Thomas Azman is a highly distinguished and world renowned Low Vision Specialist in Maryland and Virginia who dedicates his life to helping individuals of all ages who suffer from vision loss. Since 1975, Dr. Azman has been providing unique comprehensive advanced low vision care to patients challenged by macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, stargardt’s, albinism, RP, stroke and other diseases.
