22 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Supported by an AS in biomedical engineering from Northeastern University in 1965 and a BS in mathematics from Suffolk University in 1969, Albert J. Winnier commenced his career with Sylvania prior to delving into the construction business. In 1972, he founded his own construction company, Winnier Construction Co., serving as president and general contractor until 1992. During this time, he also served as president and general contractor for International MedDesign, Inc., from 1991 to 1997. Subsequent to the dissolution of his eponymously-named company, Mr. Winnier excelled as a senior project manager for The NorwoodCompany from 1997 to 1999 and for Skanska (formerly known as Beers Construction Company) from 1999 to 2001. Between 2001 and 2005, he was a senior project manager for The Haskell Company. Since 2005, Mr. Winnier has flourished as a project executive for Mills-Gilbane in Fort Pierce, Florida. Previously spending four years in the United States Air Force, Mr. Winnier earned a certificate from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He attributes his success to his willingness to put in time and effort into his projects, as well as his diligent work ethic. He is one of the original certified general contractors to take and pass the exam in the State of Florida and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Winnier has contributed to the University of South Florida and the University of North Florida in their student housing projects. He has also lent his time and expertise to the Boca Ciega Center for Wellness, the Medical Professions’ Magnet Center and Pizzo Elementary School. Maintaining affiliation with the Contractors and Building Association in Pinellas Park, Florida, he also previously excelled as director of the ARC of St. Petersburg from 1984 to 1993. The father of four children, Mr. Winnier enjoys traveling, skiing, going to the library and studying genealogy. He has researched into over 20,000 people in his family lineage. He is also an aviator who holds a multiengine air transport license, Gold Seal flight instructor, an instrument instructor and ground instructor, and has over 11,000 hours. ALBERT J.
