92 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION While attending school in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Robert Bohnstengel was inspired by his eighth grade U.S. history teacher and vowed to become a U.S. history teacher. Obtaining a BA in history from the University of South Carolina, he began his career as a teacher at Ridgeland High School in South Carolina. Over nine years, he taught South Carolina history, world history, world geography, Western civilization, government and economics. Yet, he never taught U.S. history. He later earned an MS in education administration from the Citadel. He then became a school administrator, serving elementary and high schools for the next 31 years. He attained a PhD in education administration from the University of South Carolina in 2012. Upon retirement, he founded B&B Education Services, serving as chief executive officer, acting principal and consultant with various schools. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Bohnstengel is especially proud of enlightening his students on South Carolina’s local history. Post-retirement, he has been active with the Stella Maris Men’s Club and the Hidden Cove Architectural Review Board. He enjoys fishing, hunting and gardening. Brennan became enamored with dancing, particularly ballet and modern dance, in her formative years. Supported by a BS from DePaul University and an MS and PhD from the University of Wisconsin, she served the University of Wisconsin-Madison for 36 years prior to attaining professor emerita status in 2002. A professor of dance beginning in 1993, she previously served as chairperson of the dance program, associate professor, assistant professor, lecturer and teaching assistant upon her employment in 1966. Prior to her tenure at the University of Wisconsin, she was an assistant professor and chairperson at Rosary College from 1958 to 1966. Throughout her career, Dr. Brennan has authored or co-authored myriad articles, book chapters and papers, and has also been a choreographer. Post-retirement, she served as president of the board of directors of the Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy. Notably, Dr. Brennan earned the 2002 Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a 1995 Fulbright Senior Research Scholarship to India, and a 1988 Research Committee Travel Award to the Olympic Scientific Congress in Korea, among other accolades.
