127 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS E arly in life, Jessica N. Sauls enjoyed makeup artistry for Halloween costumes, as well as cutting and styling her siblings’ hair. Drawing upon these formative experiences, she desired to enter the service industry in which she could provide her talents to other individuals. Starting out in the restaurant business, Ms. Sauls worked as an operations supervisor for Savannah Secret Gardens from 2000 to 2007, assistant restaurant manager for The Mansion on Forsyth Park from 2006 to 2010, and food and beverage outlet manager for Hilton Savannah DeSoto from 2011 to 2012. After reflecting upon her professional endeavors, Ms. Sauls decided to pursue cosmetology, completing coursework as a cosmetology student between 2012 and 2014. After completing an apprenticeship in 2012, she became a hair stylist and makeup artist for All About Hair in 2013, holding her positions until 2016. Concurrently, she was a lash stylist for Locks & Lashes Boutique from 2015 to 2016. From this point onward, Ms. Sauls was motivated to spearhead her own business and established By Jessica and Co. Beauty Lounge in 2016, located in Pooler, Georgia. Supported by a master’s degree, eyebrow certification and Novalash certification, Ms. Sauls offers such services as hair styling, waxing, eyelash extensions, micro-blading, facials, and styling and makeup for weddings. Looking toward the future of her company, she intends to open a second salon and establish a mobile branch of her business. Ms. Sauls has further contributed her time and expertise to her local community as a supporter of the Breast Cancer Foundation. In light of her immense contributions to the field of cosmetology and her philanthropy as a whole, she was honored as Best Hair Salon in Pooler, Georgia, in 2016, among other accolades. When asked of advice she could provide to future professionals in her field, she emphasizes that one should never relinquish in the face of obstacles, but instead, rise up amid the struggles and come out triumphant.
