128 MILLENNIUM B ernice K. Faegenburg is an award-winning artist and printmaker who has been making a name for herself in the creative arts field for over 45 years. Ms. Faegenburg developed a passion for art as a young girl and knew that she wanted her creativity to be the focal point of her career. She ventured to make her dreams a reality after realizing that she could achieve her vision through the medium of printmaking. To prepare for her career, she attended the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science before receiving a Master of Science in art education from C.W. Post College. Ms. Faegenburg began her career as an art educator in 1977, teaching emotionally compromised children at Roslyn Junior High School. She later taught in Philadelphia public schools and at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and has led creative arts workshops and a silk screen printing class for adults in Roslyn, N.Y. Ms. Faegenburg has been involved with numerous national and international exhibitions, including “Reflections of Winter” at the Nassau County Museum of Art, the 37 th annual exhibition of Audubon Artists, and the 28 th annual exhibition of the Parrish Art Museum. She has also been a part of exhibitions at the Richmond Art Museum in Indiana; “Art of the Northeast,” presented by the Silvermine Guild of Artists; shows at the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island and the Onward Gallery; and “A View of One’s Own,” at the Zimmerli Art Museum. Ms. Faegenburg is a member of the National Association of Women Artists and the International Association of Art. She earned Best in Show from the Visual Arts Alliance and received an award from the Manhasset Art Association, as well as the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award from the National Association of Women Artists. She has exhibited with artists such as William Paterson Armstrong, Jenny Belin, Franz Fox, Tazuko Fujii, Jo shua Greenberg and Scott Kulok, and presented a collection of mixed media photography at the Viridian Artists gallery in Chelsea in May 2017.
