243 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine F or over four decades, licensed psychologist Dr. Jennifer Lendl has helped those with mental and behavioral issues. Before establishing her own practice in San Jose in 1988, Dr. Lendl was a head coordinator and imparted her knowledge as a lecturer for the department of sociology at San Jose State University. She continued working in the San Jose region as a psychologist and psychologist assistant at the Family Service Center, then earned a similar position at Mare Island Nuclear Submarine Base in Vallejo in 1992. To prepare for her career, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in history from Stanford University. She then obtained a Master of Science in psychology from San Jose State University and later earned a PhD in psychology from International College. She earned her history credentials in 1976 and became a certified therapist and approved consultant in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing in 1999. Dr. Lendl became a diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress in 1999 and a diplomate of the National Institute of Sports in 2003. Throughout her career, Dr. Lendl has received several accolades, including the Francine Shapiro Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution from the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association and the Woman of Achievement Award from San Jose Mercury News and Santa Clara County Women’s Fund. She was also a National Institute of Mental Health scholar, a Kathryn Uhl Carr scholar, a California State Scholar, and a Governor’s Scholar.
