From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Salazar was an instructor with the U.S. Navy, earning the Instructor of the Quarter Award in 2022 and 2023. He also received the Navy’s Year Award in 2020 and 2021, the Quarter Award in 2015, 2016 and 2020, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Mr. Salazar joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2025. Believing that people deserve support grounded in compassion, he contributes to the Wounded Warrior Project. He also serves as a Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society coordinator and a civilian coordinator at the Mind Warfare Training Center. Mr. Salazar is guided by a Winston Churchill quote: “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” He is eager to watch his career grow while maintaining the firm foundation his family has set. Sam Salazar aims to leave a lasting impression wherever he goes and help individuals progress from their current level to the next. A natural leader, he found the opportunity to impact others through 10 years of service in the U.S. Navy. Today, he is applying his abilities to protect national security as a civilian. Mr. Salazar is a senior physical security access specialist at System High Corporation, where he coordinates and facilitates security access for higher-level individuals at coalition events, including those in the contracting sector. The role has been a natural transition into civilian life while enabling him to continue his meaningful work. Mr. Salazar’s service to his country began in 2015, when he served as a watch supervisor on the USS Gladiator until 2017. He then served one year as an operations supervisor before becoming a combat information center leading petty officer aboard the USS Dextrous from 2018 to 2021. This was a pivotal time in Mr. Salazar’s military service. In 2020, tensions between the United States and Iran heightened. Stationed in the Persian Gulf, he and the crew were on standby, uncertain whether a conflict was coming.
