Mr. Paulos feels great pride and accomplishment when reflecting on the individuals and families who have been positively impacted by his and his team’s commitment to serve. He asserts an unwavering belief that he was called to this work by a higher power more than 23 years ago. It is this conviction that continues to strengthen and enable him to execute and facilitate healing with dynamic energy that is organized, thoughtful and compassionate. Mr. Paulos’ work is grounded in the principles of Kingdom-driven Leadership and influence, particularly his training approaches and supervisory delivery. He believes in building others up with humility and in cultivating individuals’ and teams’ strengths. His focus is on reinforcing human and spiritual values while expanding knowledge. Mr. Paulos’ mindset and approaches are steered by a personal relationship with and his reliance on God’s love, power and authority. Looking ahead, he aims to restructure and refine his expertise and approaches so they can be shared even more widely to advance effective mental healthcare and Kingdom-driven influence in California and beyond. Alameda County Behavioral Health and the county Sheriff’s Office to initiate and provide the first-ever overnight mental health services at Santa Rita County Jail – the third-largest county jail in California and the fifth largest in the United States. He further extended his impact in 2023 upon the closure of California’s Youth Authority Prison and the passage of the CARE Act. Mr. Paulos also led the rollout of a new California state legislation, designing, submitting and delivering Alameda County’s Forensic Behavioral Health Plan and Programming for treatment within the first-ever transitional age youth felonylevel unit at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center. This project integrated the state’s new guidelines for effective, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive rehabilitative care. Mr. Paulos has worked with and supervised interdisciplinary city and county behavioral health teams, including the Stanislaus County Crisis Emergency Response Team, the Integrated Forensics Team and the Co-Occurring Disorders FSP Project. His service also includes time and consultation with the San Francisco City and County Jail Behavioral Health Services team and Alameda County’s Health and Human Services Agency.
