As a former medical social worker with St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia, and a renal social worker with U.S. Renal Care Inc., she was responsible for assisting disabled patients in obtaining health insurance and benefits, coordinating with hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, and assisting with transplant coordination. Ms. Ayers-Shaw also offered valuable resources to patients with substance use disorders to enhance their care. Ms. Ayers-Shaw holds a BSW and an MSW from the University of Georgia, which she completed in 2010 and 2013, respectively.
