Stephen Cantrill is fortunate to have had two fulfilling careers he has enjoyed immensely: a first act in civil service and a second in real estate. Mr. Cantrill is an associate broker with ERA Young Realty & Investment in Payson, Arizona, a small town of about 16,000 residents. He entered the real estate business in 1997 when he was in his mid-50s and has now spent almost 30 years in this role. He values the flexibility of the work, as well as the community connections it has enabled him to form. Additionally, Mr. Cantrill was president of his own real estate firm, Realty Executives, Payson & the Pines, from 2002 to 2008. At this point in his career, he is focused on serving current and soon-to-be retirees, supporting those who need help reaching their housing goals in their golden years. Since becoming an agent, Mr. Cantrill has been a member of the Central Arizona Association of Realtors, serving on its board of directors for more than 20 years. He has been treasurer since 2024, a voluntary position that involves leading the finance committee and helping plan the annual budget. The association holds monthly membership meetings, funds educational initiatives, and organizes charity events throughout the year, including Thanksgiving meal deliveries. Mr. Cantrill values honesty and integrity above all else and has strived to maintain these qualities throughout his life. He also possesses strong negotiation skills, which have been essential as a real estate agent and in his previous work. He is known for being level-headed and managing issues with facts, not conflict. Mr. Cantrill’s first career began as an intern trainee right out of college with the U.S. Department of Defense. Over 27 years, he advanced through the ranks to the Senior Executive Service, supporting the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and Defense Logistics Agency at various locations across the country. He takes pride in having worked his way up through the department from an internship to hold leadership positions in government operations. Mr. Cantrill served as the director of contracts at the Resolution Trust
