42 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT OLIVIA ANDRUS-DRENNAN FILMMAKER, CINEMATOGRAPHER, VIDEO PRODUCER Big Sky Genesis Productions LLC, Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration Bozeman, MT Olivia Andrus-Drennan is an independent filmmaker, producer and cinematographer whose career has focused on science and environmental education through documentary films. Her passion for science began as a child, inspired by her mother’s work in organic chemistry and by media figures such as Steve Irwin and Jeff Corwin, who introduced a generation to wildlife conservation. Ms. Andrus-Drennan studied at Purdue University, where she double-majored in wildlife biology and film and video studies, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2015. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, she gained production experience as a boom operator for JacKlink Productions and completed an internship with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for a wildlife documentary film. She also served as chair of public relations for Purdue Musical Organizations. After graduation, Ms. Andrus-Drennan focused on outdoor education and public outreach as a lead homeschool instructor for the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy. She concurrently joined the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as an operations coordinator for the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge and transitioned into a role as a watershed watcher associate for the park the following year. In 2018, she relocated to Montana to continue her education at Montana State University. During this time, she worked as a coffee master for Starbucks Coffee Company and remained active in film and theater as a floor manager for TEDxBozeman and a box office assistant at the historic Ellen Theatre. During the 2019-2020 academic year, Ms. Andrus-Drennan served as a chemistry teaching assistant at Montana State University. She continued working for the school as the MFA program coordinator, a role she held from 2020 to 2023. In 2022, she was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in science and natural history filmmaking. While working toward her master’s degree, Ms. Andrus-Drennan continued her focus on independent filmmaking and, in 2019, launched her own production company, Big Sky Genesis Productions.
