43 Millennium - Twenty-third Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Ms. Andrus-Drennan hopes to use her career to help educate the public about science and natural history by making otherwise heavy topics accessible and engaging. She enjoys bridging the gap between subject-matter experts and viewers who may not have a background in the subjects of her films, and is dedicated to fostering connections and sparking curiosity. As a leader in her field, she actively supports other filmmakers and serves as a screener for the International Documentary Association’s Independent Documentary Awards. She is active with the Wildlife Camerawomen’s group and is dedicated to helping pave the way for other women in the documentary film space, advising emerging artists to trust their vision, remain open to taking unexpected risks with their work, and not let anyone discourage them from their goals. one of her films premiered at the Cannes Film Market, drawing extensive attention to her work and skills and opening broader opportunities. Since 2022, Ms. Andrus-Drennan has been a publisher, producer and cinematographer for the Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration on the Okeanos Explorer. During this period, she worked on films including “The Dolphin Dilemma,” an award-winning documentary that screened at nearly 100 film festivals and won 64 awards. She is a producer on the 2025 film “Game Changer,” about the USS Yorktown shipwreck, and was proud to be a part of one of only three teams allowed access to the site. She considers the project among her greatest accomplishments thus far and aims to continue expanding her production company to complete one to two documentaries annually.
