She works on the finance side, leveraging her extensive experience as a territory manager in insurance to build and maintain relationships. Her focus is on financing both commercial and personal insurance policies. Despite the suggestion – and even the societal expectation – that she should be a stay-athome mother, Ms. Butler stood firmly by her identity as a driven, hardworking woman and built a career spanning nearly two decades. Her accomplishments prove that women can break barriers and achieve professional success while maintaining their individuality. She especially wants to show her daughter that all opportunities are within reach. Ms. Butler entered the insurance industry with the help of her aunt, a successful professional in the field who facilitated an interview for her. Though she had no prior experience or knowledge, her resilience and adaptability shone through. She was hired in 2008 to work in the mailroom at Southern Fidelity – Capitol Preferred, and over the next 11 years, she worked her way up. In many ways, it was baptism by fire, as Ms. Butler was sent out into the field to sell insurance to business owners without adequate training. Her ability to listen and learn enabled her to overcome obstacles and grow into her role. She ultimately reached the position of Florida marketing manager before leaving the firm to join Burns & Wilcox from 2019 to 2024. Ms. Butler’s proudest achievement is her exceptional progress within just six months at her current company. Despite having to build her book of business from scratch and with a smaller budget, she has been recognized as one of the top performers in her region, achieving the second position overall, reflecting her relentless effort and commitment. Kira Beth Butler was raised with the understanding that nothing would be handed to her, instilling self-reliance, perseverance and determination from a young age. She continues to embody these values and now aims to pass them on to her daughter. Her story stands as an example of how women can succeed in a world often dominated by men.
