Founding the company alongside her ex-husband in 1980, they initially offered lawn mowing services before pivoting the company’s focus in 1988 to fertilizing and weed control. Notably, Ms. Harmon’s company is marketing ArborMax®, an organic fertilizer designed for all woody-stemmed plants, and is developing additional organic fertilizers for gardens and grass. Although she has achieved several career milestones, Ms. Harmon is especially proud of her role in expanding business operations to include two additional partners and her son, who serves as director of operations. Likewise, the company has evolved to serve over 150 schools and universities, as well as many banks, municipalities and school districts. Ms. Harmon is also proud to have been approached by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food for pest control services. Earlier in her career, Ms. Harmon gained expertise in business administration through work in an attorney’s office in the mid-1980s and as a certified medical assistant in a medical clinic in the early 1980s. She also pursued coursework at Utah State University in Logan. Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Harmon is a devoted mother of three children and grandmother of 12 grandchildren. She emphasizes the importance of inspiring others to persevere in their lives and careers, and underscores integrity and a sense of purpose as defining qualities that have propelled her forward. Looking toward the future, Ms. Harmon intends to expand the scope of Harmon & Sons Lawn, Tree and Pest Control while providing continuous opportunities for staff members to advance in their careers.
