Utilizing her expertise in business management, she has since served as the chief executive officer of TGK Automotive in Hugo, Minnesota, since 2007. Starting the company as a small, family-owned automotive shop, TGK Automotive has since grown to 14 locations throughout the state of Minnesota. Concurrent to her role with TGK Automotive, Ms. Kaplan had also worked for Aquarius Water Conditioning for 11 years between 2003 and 2014. Civically involved as well, she has volunteered for charity events hosted by the Hugo Business Association and regularly donates to the Lion Food Shelf. Attributing her success to her persistence, as well as to both her and her husband’s supportive families, Ms. Kaplan says that the most noteworthy aspect of her career has been managing TGK Automotive while also continually teaching herself the intricacies of the field. Notably, in 2018, TGK Automotive won the Hugo Business of the Year Award from the Hugo Business Association. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Kaplan is especially proud of running the executive facet of the business, as well as simultaneously running TGK Automotive while teaching herself the complexities of the industry. Furthermore, she is immensely proud of growing the business from a small shop to now boasting 14 locations. Looking toward the future, Ms. Kaplan intends to continue growing the business side of TGK Automotive alongside her husband, as well as spend more time with her family and children. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on November 16, 1983 to parents Phil Monita and Sandy Roussling, Ms. Kaplan has three children: Ethan, Lexi and Lucy. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing and bowling. After graduating from high school, Alana Kaplan began working for Kinetico, Inc., in an office setting. Following this tenure, she served other companies in the same office-level capacity in a myriad of roles.
