As an African American who has often been the only person of his race in professional settings, he has developed meaningful relationships and fostered crosscultural understanding. This extends to his volunteer work as the board chair with the Cass Lake Area Food Shelf, which serves the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, a Native American tribe. Under Dr. Clark’s leadership, the organization has grown into a fully recognized and operational entity. He has forged new partnerships within the reservation, expanded services and increased cross-community outreach. Dr. Clark has also been active with Gideons International since 2018, having been introduced to the organization while seeking to join a ministry at the local jail. He and his wife have both held leadership roles within the nonprofit, with him serving as treasurer, state chaplain and His goal is to help others make better decisions and to live with purpose and intention.
