156 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING Gilbert Rivera discovered his affinity for technology at an early age. After completing his first computer course in college, he was determined to pursue a career in the profession. Since 2024, he has thrived as a solutions architecture manager at Presidio Inc., a technology solutions provider where Mr. Rivera presents technology consulting and architectural design services across data center, cloud and AI solutions. In his role, he also leads a team of solution architects supporting enterprise-level clients and supports toptier enterprise accounts, including the largest organizations in major Midwestern markets and in national cities such as Chicago and Detroit. Throughout his career, Mr. Rivera has recognized that technology evolves in tandem with market demands and that it remains essential to work in areas that align with a customer’s mission. Resilient in his efforts to understand market dynamics, he leads customer satisfaction by integrating AI applications into solutions informed by customer feedback. Earlier in his career, he worked for companies such as Pure Storage Inc., VMware (now Broadcom), Scality, Tegile Systems, HP, NetApp and Promark Technology, among others, honing his expertise in technological solutions. He also holds an AAS in computer networking from Prairie State College. Likewise, Mr. Rivera is a respected military veteran, having served as a first sergeant and senior enlisted advisor with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Inspired to join the military after the events of September 11, 2001, he went on to serve in roles including staff sergeant (detachment chief), group gunnery sergeant, gunnery sergeant and operations chief. Notably, his service molded him into the successful individual he is today and provided a standard for the example he sets for his family and community. For his service, Mr. Rivera earned the Gung Ho Award from the Marine Corps. Beyond his profession, Mr. Rivera is a dedicated soccer coach, charity and food bank volunteer, and former athletic director. Looking ahead, he aims to organize a networking event to help transitioning military personnel and technology professionals connect, showcasing military values and how they can be applied to civilian careers.
